Legal Intakes? (Cali)

Hey guys...

I went into search before I posted...and I really didn't get the results I thought there would be so I guess here it is. I moved here from a base in Montana...where there Isn't really a law on modifications to the intake...ect... Does anyone know other than AEM that is a possible CARB or 50-state legal intake that won't get me in trouble? The one I currently have is NOT legal for this state (according to the hobby shop emmisions tester).

Any information would help...thanks

My home state is Iowa...never lived there when I had a liscense, so I never registered a car there...montana is where my family & I were stationed..so it expires...and the plates (custom) are expensive as hell! Plus the USAF would rather you register your car in the state you are residing in.

any company that has a C.A.R.B exemption number with the product. most of the big companies like Injen, AEM, possibly Weapon-R, have C.A.R.B. exemption numbers. But then again, it's just an intake, will you really get @!#$ with? The majority of the parts people get ticketed on are exhausts, forced induction, swaps, etc.

I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.

I don't know where in CA you are stationed, but when I was working in El Segundo last year, I saw a lot of USAF personnel with out of state tags. I believe if you are active duty, you can maintain your home of record tags. If you can go that route, do it. Having to smog your vehicle isn't too expensive but a pain. If you go the CA route, you will get a military discount on the tags.

Injen and AEM are the only CARB legal intakes available right now. $100 for a brand new intake is a pretty killer deal. Just ask for pics first and make sure it has the CARB sticker on it. If you need anything let me know.
