im looking to do a swap from a 2.2 ohc automatic tranny to a z24...2.4 dohc manual.. can this be done ? wut wil be need toi be done and also who has done it?
It is overhead valve, not overhead cam, but yes. The swap is very straight-forward. A lot of people have done it and I know I have seen parts write-ups listing everything you will need.

wil some 1 post them? i want to do wit soon tho... my gf dad is a mechanic and he says if is a strait swap he can do it...... wut would i have to do to make mine from a automatic to a manual ??????
Stick with the same year.. or at least close. don't go across the 2000 barrier, because then you end up rewiring most of the stupid car..

Get yourself a 2.4L motor and tranny... order the metal brackets for the tranny mounts.. I don't know if it's the same for 95-99 cars, but for 00+ cars you can only buy the rear one from GM.. the other is available from Turbo Tech Racing. (again, not sure on the 95-99 cars, Isuzu tranny)... weld in the brackets, install proper pedals, switch shifter assembly for 5 speed one.. change engine wiring harness and install everything..
not too hard, if you have someone who can weld in the mounts.

how much do you think it will cost to do the swap with the manual conversion?with labor.... just a guess
