has anyone ever heard of or installed a "venom 400 module." i've heard mixed reviews about it. some say it's crap, some say it's good but only with an msd ignition slapped on it. let me know what you guys think.

it's funny because jc whitney claims it gains up to like 30 horse or so. 25% horse gain. how can they make such claims on a hunk of plastic that doesn't do crap?

jc whitney i believe does not make the claims, venom does, and it may make a 25% hp gain on one engine they tested it on. they just won't tell you it was a 1/4 hp horse Briggs and Stratton push mower.

25% percent is quite a bit. If you want something that will help, thats not what I recommend. I bought the SUN hypervoltage kit from optauto.com for 106.20 and I got a little power, better lights, a probably 2-3hp. They have them in HR,LR, and MR. I bought the HR for high end...but the MR will give you both the high and low all in one kit. Easy to hook up...takes about 5-10 minutes. Just go to the hardware store and buy some velcro sticks that way you can mount it on the side of the battery. Works well I think for the money and if you have a fair amount done as far as intake, exhaust, any ignition upgrades..you'll definately notice the bump. Really for 106 and some change....it was almost a better deal than the air intake system or ignition upgrade I did. But you won't notice the gains at all if any..unless you already have mods
