hey my 96 4dr sunfire has 218 hp"at the crank"but it's all top end off the line sucks no tourq at all.the dyno we used said 218 hp 178lbs tq. is there anything that can help??
sorry about the spelling.in my profile is all the specs on the car.
With what you had listed in your profile I don't personally believe those numbers could be put down. I'd like to see a dyno graph or maybe you need a second opinion.
yeah, how did you pull those numbers? It shouldnt feel low in torque with 178 to the wheels.....unless the torque curve is all weird and @!#$ and you peak high.
welcome to the 2.2 OHV...The thing is if you are puttin down numbers like that then you really shouldn't be having torque issues. I agree with EJB. There's something not jiving with those mods and that number...you sure it's not maybe 158?

im a @!#$ pussy ass liar! i lied to my girlfriend over and over, sat around with her friends naked and stayed home downloading porn...she loved me and i hurt her...i deserve to be alone and unhappy...no wonder every girl i try to love leaves me...i suck.
theres no way your getting 208 at the crank with a a P/P intake/ exhaust there just is no way...
there is no way that is accurate. either the dyno is way, way, way off calibration..... or you magically got the crank to spin at 12grand.
he wasnt asking about how off the dyno was hes askign about getting more torque in the low end.
MY 2003 SUNFIRE

If the information he's starting with is flawed, then he's hardly in a position to know what it is he needs, right?
So by clarifying what his problem is, people can better offer solutions.
178 ft-lbs of torque to the ground should be plenty to kick him in the back off the line so perhaps there's some other issue at hand.
bahahaqhahaahahahha ahahahaha no way man i call bull @!#$ to, try another dyno

You sure that isnt 118hp and 78tq?
J/K try a higher launch RPM, maybe that'll help....
1971 camaro 427 --- here!
Stock... and loving every minute of it.
the more you port the HIGHER up the rpm band goes
welcome to the wonderfull world of trial and error , and flawed info
something is way wrong with your info man
no way in hell is your 2.2 ohv engine is pulling that much power.
if i were you, go to a different dyno and have it done again.
or even better, go to a drag strip, you should be at least mid 14s with thatmuch power
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
That much power should be good for high 13's.
218 hp 178lbs tq
I'd like to have that on my 2.4L. Maybe after the Supercharger...
Now Back from Iraq!
With More Favor and Less Calories
Working on the engine... Soon to be complete.

Cannon fodder is my daddy.
ok i forgot to to put in that my sunfire is auto and runs 14.5 and has a b&m shift kit.i could give a damn if anyone thinks the hp and tq is right.the question i had is how can i increse tq?
well considering half the people heredont believe your #'s that will be pretty hard
only way is nitrous or boost
no sir i don't think that is can be right.
off a 2.2l, i have a 2.2 and if you are you got to tell me what you did so i can run 14.5's
Your looking a bit hungry, i think you should grab a spoon and eat my ass!!!!!
2.2 with 220hp, 180lbs, auto, 4 doors running 14.9
a 2.3 at 215hp and 170lbs will run 14.9 and it's a 5 SPEED!
something got mix up and you just believe what the dyno tell you witch is not right.
Gilles
2.3 Ho
i tried staying out of this but ive seen it for too long and its buggin me
its TORQUE not tourq
put some 4:11's in the rear..... oh yeah, forgot about that.
CAR GODS MADE THE 1.6 SOHC TO MAKE US 2.2 OHV GUYS FEEL BETTER.
Dude, with that co2 kit you have "in the fuel rail", you should be hitting at least 300 horsepowars. Tune that puppy up, and like the guy above said, get some gears in the back, and show these hataz what the 2.2 can do.
