I have an eco were can i get a crank case vent filter? What size are they? And does nappa or autozone have them?and what can i plug the hole on the intake with?
thanks guys!

I think advance auto has them--you can get them anywhere. what i did with mine was get 2 filters--one for the crankcase, one for the intake tube.
The reason the crankcase tube connects to the intake is so that any gasses which go past the valves can be put back through the intake into the system to burn. If you remove the tube, you need to put a filter over the hole to prevent foreign matter from entering your engine.
i think you didn't understand the question James.

how necessary is the crankcase vent filter anyways?
McBsunfgt: Sorry, forgot to quote... I wasn't answering the original question.

The excess gasses have to go somewhere. if you remove the tub that is there, you definitely need to replace it with a filter or something, if for no other reason than what James said---to keep foreign objects from entering the crankcase.
i have a 2.2 eco in a 2005 sunfire. wat size filter do i need?
James is right. I would actually say just plug the opening in the intake tube.
PCV systems is a emissions part. Venting it to the atmosphere is bad. Just so you know. And you wont see any performance gain. The only reason why people really do that is to prevent oil from blowing into the intake. The solution to that is an oil catch can (mostly used for turbo vehicles) I would just say leave it be connected to the intake, unless you just want to see the filter...
