Lose some weight, WAI, header full exhuast, seafoam, lighter rim/tire combination, etc.

don't know how well the engine would like the idea of using the nitrous right off the line... never mind the fact that traction would now be an issue.
anything you can do to better the air flow of the engine is going to help ( stuff like the parts
dyskord mentioned above). You could get a lightened crank pulley, that is supposed to make the engine rev quicker. Get motor mounts too--I think you can get the upper and lower for a 2.2 for around $70, just go to
Car Customs
buy a manual next time
autos are dogs off the line unless you do some major work to them

I tend to disagree. I think it's more of learning how to launch. Granted if the power isn't there, there's nothing you can do. All I have are motor mounts, and a WAI. My car does good off the line. More top end is where I need power.

lightweight pulley from RSM is great on my car. or acceleration, probably the best i've got for ya. Don't have mounts but if they do what they are supposed to, the launch will be better.
I'll have a sig someday....................

You might disagree, but a manual in a car identical to yours will beat you by a full second in the quartermile
Smaller diameter, wider tread tires and reduced tire pressures on the front. The smaller(approx. 1") dia will give you more the equivalent to more gear. Wider tread will give you more contact patchfor more rubber on the track and the reduced pressure(approx. 20-25psi) will give more traction. Don't go too low on the pressure though or you'll lose traction because the contact patch will cup and the center of the tread will no longer be in contact with the track. Reduced tire pressure will also reduce the trap speed, it's a fine balance of traction and speed.

I'm not going into the whole manual vs auto deal. Not all cars are created equal. Just because you have a stick doesn't mean you have a racecar.
Point is... Learn to launch. Know your machine.

Malakai I am with you autos are not a bad thign to have. It has been proven that yes manuals are better up untill about 13 seconds in the quater. After somewhere around that tiem manuals take longer to shift then a good auto

no offense, but like stated above, all cars are different. i have beaten a 2002 z24 manual, with my 2000 z24 auto. really similar mods, and he was amazed by how i took him. all cars are different.
