ok im finally deciding on getting an exhaust im thinking of getting the piping and having it bent froma muffler shop. im probably going to go with 2inch piping from the cat. im gonna get a muffler. anywho who has done this have an estimate on how much this will cost and if you have an oppion on the piping and what kinda muffler i should go with.
2" is stock size... why would you replace your exhaust with another of the exact same size? go 2.25".
"i promise we won't get drunk, and go out in boat in the dark, stand up in the boat and fire the gun into the air unless we have life jackets on."
yeah, go with 2.25. be better for your car
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
oh ok i wasnt sure what size was in there, so i just put that down as a guess. does anyone one know whch would be more cost efective, custom system or ordering from a shop.
All depends on what you decide to do as far as parts, Compression Vs Mandrel bends, etc.
Pre-built systems, Depending on the name, your looking at anywhere form $180 - around $1,000 with most of the popular systems ringing in between $300 & $400.
As i said, I'm building my own and it's ringing in at about $280.
i work at an exhaust shop, with a universal muffler (dtm style, tanabe style, etc..), 2.25" pipe (cat back) would probably run about $180-$200 or some where around that.
ive priced out a full exhaust for about $350 without shipping costs
$170 --- Pacesetter header
$50 ---- cat
$100 ---- Flowmaster 60 series
$30 ---- for 2.25" piping
all work/bending myself or from friends with equipment (free)
04 sunfire auto, mid 15's n/a, and still going
^^^^^thats a lot cheaper than mine.
Pacesetter header w/ Jet-Hot coating: $240
Magnaflow single-exit cat-back from RKSport: $300
26" polished Magnaflow magnapack: $65
Welding and having the muffler hung correctly: $100
Opening ends of cat to 2.25 and 2.25 stainless steel piping from header to cat to cat-back, and welding:$100
That may seem a little pricey but its definitely worth every penny every time I step on the gas.
