i'm lookin into gettin one of the rksport pullies for my ecotec cavalier. i was wondering how this pully differs from the stock one. they say that it will "... slow the external accessories, freeing valuable horsepower...". will this really help much with few or no other performance mods? please leave any comments, suggestions or advice. thanx.

its an underdrive which is a no no usually
1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
if you plan on running a sound system with alot of power than its a bad idea , cause it will slow the alt down
in which case you would want to look at RSM they sell a stock size pulley that is alot lighter
the power gain is usually what is lost trying to spin the heavier parts , so basicly its freeing up already lost power , not giving you more
if you want more power than get a intake , larger tb , or a cat back , those are usually the better increase for the $$$
thanx for the advice. i think my first performance upgrades will be air intake and spark boot. it might not be for a lil while yet cuz i'm saving change for parts while i pay off thousands of debt. thanx again.

don't waste your money on the spark boots, and since when is an underdrive pulley a no no.... I ran 2 12's with a "1600 watt" amp with the RKSport lightweight underive pulley for awhiel.. considering our cars are 12 volt systems as long as you stay about that your fine, normally it sits about 14.4 volts at idle, mine woudl drop to no lower then 13 volts at idle with te system up...
