Installing an intake

A friend of mine's has a 2001 2200 cav... He just got the right intake for his car because the one he had installed is one for a 2.4L cavalier. We need some help.....

I've heard if undo the facoty intake and remove it then put the new one on the throttle body and tighten the clamp that it makes install alot easier... I don't know though I just tossed mine on the valve cover and slammed the hood till it latched

no wonder i couldn't get it right, i have to remove the old one, i just duct taped it to the wheel liner for true cold air yo.
