There's another group who is working on it other than HP Tuners

And they are putting us first, #1 on the list is J's...

^ Me

http://www.obdproject.com

Been working on it for a couple months now, we just cracked the V8 seed/key algorithm and we are homing in on the 4 cylinder algorithm. After that its a matter of finding the maps and getting the software written, along with a boot loader.

^ Who says I'm developing primarily for ecos?

Obviously I can only test what I have, 2.4L auto, but the PCM's are almost exactly the same, other than some code, from 2000 to 2005. The 97-99's really aren't that bad either, so I plan on having all years and engines available in the near future.

Yeah, with a crap load of downsides:

1: You have to send them the PCM
2: They tune it and send it back
3: If you want to tweak something, guess what? Go to step 1
4: You can't adjust anything yourself
5. Doesn't come with a scan tool

Hell I could do what they are doing right now, all they do is de-solder the chip from the board, change the maps, and burn it back. And for the cost of the flash, and the dyno and down time you'd have just trying to get it to work correctly on your setup, its not worth it to me.

What does that matter? That would be the process. I never said that the reflash wouldn't work, it would just take a lot of time and tweaking to get it right. And you can't tweak it yourself, you have to send them the PCM to do it, put it back in your car, and tweak it again.

I'd much rather have something I can plug in, tune, take it for a run, tune, run, tune, and so on until I get it right, without having to ship things out, wait for the mail, wait for them, etc.

COntact RSM racing they might be able to help you out, most of thier reflashes have to do with the blowers but they might be able to do something for you dont hurt to ask

the only good thing about the JBP reflash is that they are supposed to do it for free after the first time. Shifted keep fighting the good fight!
