Vibration with motor mounts
Monday, March 14, 2005 1:31 PM
Hey Guys, got my motor mounts installed and i was just wondering what motor mount vibrates the dash? is it the upper insert or the lower mount... or both??? my dash vibrates and i am looking for a quick solution. If it is the upper mount i could just take it out i guess as the only thing i really need is the lower mount...

I would say the lower. I only have the upper and there is very little vibrations. and most people say they gained the vibs from the lower also.

i put both in and its not to bad. i had just the bottom in and thats when it shook like crazy. it still shakes but i think it is kinda of worth it. it puts more power to the ground.

The lower create the most virbration. Get use to it or get rid of them.

you guys couldnt be more wrong

its the combonation of the 2 , if you use 1 or the other its not as bad

in both of my cavs , ive had the lower 1 in first , cause it was easier for me to put it , and its not very noticable

if you have a 5spd i recomend getting the trans inserts also

mine vibrated like a bitch when i first installed them, after a few weeks and some dynamat the vibrations have gone away...so either fix it like that or find another way. but that way worked well for me...i found out most of the vibration comes from the plastic part of the dash that is closest to the windshield.
