i was going to order a aftermarket header (pacesetter) but alot of people around me have been arguing and saying that the stock 2.4 headers are probally the same size as the pacesetters at 1 1/2 inch tubing, anyone know the size of the stock 2.4 header tubing so i can go ahead and buy my header w/o any worries of doing the wrong thing. thanks i have a 2000 sunfire gt btw
yes, 1 7/8" downpipe.

sorry i read your question wrong
the stock is just under 1 7/8" , the header comes with a 2 1/4" down pipe
Also, the primaries on the header are much bigger and better flowing than the tiny ones in the stock manifold.

I figure this post is done, so i'll hi-jack it instead of starting a new post as my topic is simular.
I have the RK header that has the 2 1/4 down pipe. Anyway, i'm get'n ready to fix up my exhaust all the way back and was going to go 2 1/2 as i am NA. But if your exhaust only perfroms to the smallest diameter, wouldn't that automatically be 2 1/4" from the header down pipe. Even on turbos or supers, is the exhaust only performing at a 2 1/4 diameter because of the header? I guess i'm starting to second guess the 2 1/2 and thinking on 2 1/4 to stay consistant, of course i'm getting it compression bent, and that'll jam it down to 2" around the rear axle. I'm having problems with this, and i want to get it right. Thanks in advance for any input.
