Power cores

Hey, does this thing work, and is it worth it. Does anyone have one? Does it noticably increase hp or torque or is this a scam? Check out the link below, and you'll see what I'm talking about. Thanx

it does do every thing they said it would, but i would guess the hp gains aren't really going to be noticed until you do some fuel mods and maybe boost.

New sig in the works

you said have them on do you need more than one?
Re: Power cores

one for each coil, so a set is two. I go them for like $120 from RKSport about 3.5 to 4 years ago when they first came out. They are still on there and no problems.

can you run these with aftermarket coils such as the MSD blaster coils?

It is a piggy-back system, so as long as you can find the correct wires to the coil-packs you will be able to add them to any aftermarket coil pack. If it were a blaster coil, I am not 100% sure how that would work. All I know is it has only been proven on coil packs...so...maybe do a little research. Or give Nology a call. I am sure they would be able to help out.

I know this is an older thread, but I read the instructions from rksport, and what does it mean by piggy-backing wires?

Splice the wires from the new coil to the original wires that use to run to the coils.
I would go with the MSD coils being a lot cheaper and have a very good name.

Ditto. Bought them years ago before RK jacked the prices. Email me if anyone is interested. Decided to go a different way with the car and these things have just been sitting around since then.

John or wicked, I'd be interested in buying them, depending on the price and fitment for my car, a 2002 2.4 liter cavalier. Is the installation easy, or a pain in the ass?

I had them on a 2001 Z24 (2.4). They will work on your car. Install is not bad at all. Of course for me there is nothing I have not done to a J really. I want $50 (OBO)for the pair.

Dude that sounds like a pretty sweet deal. I'm assuming they're in pretty good conditon. Are the rksport instructions the same for these or is there a place I could get different instructions? Anywhom, email me HALO8213@yahoo.com and i can send you some cash (or money order) for them. Thanks.

Yeah, I think John wins this one. Can't go that low, mine were never installed. Hope they work out well for you. Keep us in the loop on what you think once you get them installed.

Thank you for the offer, it's appreciated. I've never used the j-body forums before. I've already had my ass saved like 3 times in the past few days. Everyone is so nice and helpful. Thanks again.

I should have added this on my last last post (whoops), but is this the MSD II described in that link you gave? I'm assuming so, but I guess i'm just curious.
