please clean the engine compartment , and everything else before you put it in
sounds like a fun time to be had
no worries. I picked up gunk de-greaser today at lunch. Ill have it sparkling like new. FYI most of that isent grease tho, when I swapped from 2.2 to 3.1I sprayed undercoating on everything to protect it.

Tonight I got some more progress done. Here is the old 3.1.
And heres the trans & the old clutch
An here is the engine bay all cleaned up. It looks really good, I just gotta fix a few rust spots that were uncovered from beneath the grime
And here I got the altenator, altenator bracket, and power steering lines sorted out
tomorrow im gonna finish up the gas lines, coolant lines, bolt up the trans an set it in place to begin mock-up for the mount!

Cool, good luck wiht that swap mang!
keep us posted on how the swap goes
Today I got the coolant lines all togeather
and the fuel lines & injectors & injector harness all together and inplace.
All that is left is I gotta swap over the knock sensor, get the flywheel machined & get a clutch and its ready to roll!

caviefreak: Ya know what I like about winter. Ya can get a bunch of beer out of the fridge and put it in the window sill so ya dont have to make as many trips out to the fridge
The old T engine is a little stronger then the E. The T has a beefer block and larger pistons. That E motor looks clean IF you have not already done so I would replace the lower intake gasket and and get a new o-ring for the distributor drive shaft, along with a paper seal to work as a redundant seal. But any ways have fun, run a good fuel to, @!#$ty fuel clogs those injectors easy they seem to be problematic.

the UIM is new & im using the old 3.1's stock injectors. works best this way cuz I can use the stock ECM. anyways:
well i got my new mounts & filled them with polyurethane, and a new ACDelco O2 sensor
picked up all the gaskets to install the EGR & oil filter relocation mount:
had to custom mount the EGR because the bolt holes were too close together
got the starter, oil filter relocation mount & oil filter installed:
After mounting the trans to the engine & dropped er in:
currently working on mocking up a custom motor mount:
reloomed the wiring harness from this:
to this:
thats all for now, more to come!

so what are you gonna be putting down? what do the 3400 have like 160hp?
that is interesting what you did to the mounts... I never would have thought of that.
I think the 3.4 may have better torque then the 3.1, not sure?

3400 makes about 185 hp and 205 ft lb of torque.
