i jus threw this manifold on my '00z with a 2.4l an its idling around 1500 rpms and when i punch it, it bogs down, but if i ease into it an then get on it, it revs up fine... any ideas of wat my problem might be? i kno this is kind of broad, but if theres anythin i should look at or check please post. i checked for vac leaks, but i havent seen anythin major along the lines of that, an yes i did adjust my TPS on my 2.3 T/B......please help me, ooo an by the way--it sounds insane!!! lol thanks guys
Did you do any type of port matching.
Probly not a vaccuum leak, so much as it may be leaking were the intake ports are.

check the throttle body see if it fits right
t/b fits perfect, it was the one that came with the manifold. if the port matching isnt perfect or that drastic will it affect it at all? i figured as long as the holes were all aligned and the gasket sealed everythin, it would be fine, maybe im wrong. im gunna look into the vac leak situation a little more this week. im also gunna have my dad hook up his tech scanner at his shop to see wat TPS is reading an wat vac's might be out of wack.. thanks guys, but get back to me on the port matchin, i barely did much to them..
You still wanna port like they have on the directions online.
If not perfect gotta get it close at least.
But definatley a leak somewhere.
Use a double gasket if if you have to.
And make sure your brake booster line is secure coming off where you cut.

Where did you hook the maf up to, and all the other vacum lines? use some gold/orange gasket maker that stuff works wonders. And you HAVE to port match it, or buy a flange that does it for you, b/c your not going to gain any power if its not portmatched and lined up right. Are you using the IAC from the 2.3 or 2.4?
sounds like u have a leak at the manifold, try loosening all the bolts and re-torquing them evenly

or not, but i do know one thing-You have to learn from
it and it has to make you better.......it has to.......
hey im looking to do the same. Im either going with the 2.3 manifold and TB or im gonna go with the rsm racing combo. Can you tell a good difference in performance wise from the 2.3 manifold and TB?
What about the T/B cable bracket. I was told that you had to use the bracket from a 95 2.3 or it would idle too high. But I am not sure, I haven't done mine yet.
yea i bought the cable bracket but im waiting for it to get to me..im gunna take the manifold back off and port match it a little more than i did.i used the IAC off the 2.4 TB and put it on the 2.3TB --thats wat nyjbodies said to do, i followed their directions step by step. as soon as i get the cable bracket in i can bring it to my garage an hook the tech scanner up to it.. i still have a feeling the tps is messed up becuase it bogs only when i floor it, guna check for more vac's tomorroa night too... thanks guys

Um... you should use 2.3 sensors with the 2.3 throttle body. They will work perfectly. Use a NEW 2.3 IAC and TPS. They work with the computer and will hook up to the wiring harness just fine. Using a 2.4 IAC witha 2.3 throttle body will make your car idle like crap. putting a 2.4 TPS on a 2.3 throttle body is a good way to BREAK it. In fact, this is probably your problem.

according to the ny-jbodies install directions, by modifyin the 2.4 tps, which i did, it will work just fine. they also say that IAC is the same thing too...sumone please correct me if im wrong, maybe i misunderstoof the directions, but thats wat i read..
I dont have the HO manifold (dont really believe it is worth the effort), but I do have a 2.3L throttle body and I used the 2.3L IAC and TPS and have not had one single problem. It is not worth modifying the 2.4L TPS to fit. The TPS sends the same type of signal, it is just shaped differently to fit on the TB better.

True but it won't hurt anything,
And actually at the time, I ended up using the 2.4L TPS and the 2.3 IAC. All on the 56mm 2.3 tb.
This time though I may just use all 2.3 stuff.
If I ever get my 59mm TB back from teh machine shop.

the 2.4 and 2.3 IAC pintles are totally different. The 2.4 IAC pintle will not seal properly into the pintle seat in the 2.3 throttle body and it will idle funny. 2.4 TPS will work on the 2.3 throttle body but its just easier to use a 2.3 TPS because you don't ahve to modifiy it, it just screws on. That, and i broke 3 of them because somehow i stripped the carbon inside the TPS (its just a glorified potentimeter) and it gave the ECM a jacked up signal. So... easier and better to use 2.3 sensors.

USE 2.3 SENSORS!!!! thats your problem. dont listen to what that write up says, it sucks.

2.4 CavyWeir~ What did you have to do to get the 2.3L TB to fit on the 2.4L Mani? or is it a direct swap? Use 2.3 sensors?
Also, can you still buy them new?
Sorry to Jack the thread...

Here's a little sumpin sumpin I wrote up a while back about what I did to swap it all over. I may have done it the hard way, but to me it is the fun way.

You will need a 2.4L throttle body and a 2.3L throttle body.
1) Remove the butterfly
2) Tap out throttle shaft
3) Place in vice and grind off the end with the throttle wheel and CC bracket until smooth.
4) Tap all pieces off until you get everything separate.
If you inspect the plastic throttle wheels, the 2.3L one is wider where it goes over the shaft, and there is a longer sleeve that is fits on to. This means the 2.3L throttle shaft is about 1/8" longer than the 2.4L one. So now that you have everything separate do the following.
5) Using the 2.3L shaft, place the cup piece on the shaft.
6) Then place the 2.3L stop piece on the shaft (in the same position it was on originally).
7) Place the 2.4L sleeve on the shaft next (the piece the throttle wheel slides over. If you are not sure which sleeve is the 2.4L sleeve, it is the shorter of the two).
8) Place the 2.4L black throttle wheel over the sleeve.
9) Place the 2.4L Cruise Control arm on the shaft.
At this point there should be about 1/8" or so sticking out of the CC arm.
10) Have this pressed with a press OR
11) Grind down until there is a little more than 1/16" sticking out and hammer down on the end there until it folds over and holds everything tight (manual press).
Now the 2.3L throttle body matches the cables perfectly. The only thing left to do is grind down the stop where it hits the manifold, otherwise you will not be able to get full throttle. To understand where to grind, place it on the manifold and open it by hand. You will then see where to grind.
I ended up using the 2.3L IAC valve and the 2.3L TPS sensor and it idles fine. It idles smoother than it did before and has not thrown a code since I did it at the end of June.

so tear both TB's and mix and match everything back onto the 2.3 TB...hmm sounds like fun...lol...do you need a '95 TB, or one with just cruise? Would you happen to have any pics? Also, step #3 is so you can slide everything off?

yeah the throttle wheels are spun on, so you have to grind it down to get everything off.
I dont have any pictures of it.
You dont even need one with cruise. My car had it on, so I mixed and matched everything so the only thing I would notice that is different would be the performance. I kept the cruise in the stock location and basically just swapped the TB.

It sounds like you screwed up the tps and its not sending the right signal to the ecu: this could cause the bog and the high idle.

If it bogs when you floor it, it is a TPS problem. There is nothing else to it. That has nothing to do with a high idle though. I high idle means there is a manifold vacuum leak somewhere. I had to go through the TPS problem. When you gas it good it sounds like you are running on 2 cylinders. I had to come to a complete stop and let it idle a minute for it to come back.

The vacum leak is from him using the 2.4 IAC, it doesnt fit in the whole right.

its funny how nobody listens.
you don't have to hack up your throttle body or hack up and mismatch your sensors.
this is real simple, OH KAY EVERYBODY listen...
**2.3 sensors go on the 2.3 throttle body. THAT'S IT. they will work FINE on your car. **
Mixing them up will give you all kinds of PROBLEMS like a high idle because the IAC isn't sealing properly, and because the TPS is @!#$ up. If you're that hard up for 2.3 sensors, PM me, i can send you some!!!
That ho manifold install write up is full of innacuracies because when it was written nobody else had done it. Don't follow it. There are better ways to do it.
DO NOT hack up the bell crank on your throttle body trying to swap it with a 2.4 TB bell crank. You can easily use the stock 2.4 cable bracket if you drill a teensy little throttle cable hookup hole on the 2.3 throttle body bellcrank in the same spot where it is on the 2.4. There. Done.
