I am looking at getting some autometer gauges for my 2001 2.4l, i want to put in an air/fuel guage, and an oil pressure gauge, the C2 gauges from autometer have an electronic sender for the oil pressure, and im trying to figure out whether or not i can hook up an oil pressure sender on my car, any help would be appreciated

i couldnt hook up the oil in my car but then again i didnt really try cause i couldnt figur it out
on the 2.4's, the oil pressure switch is below the IDI cover (not 100% sure, as i have a 2.2, but a friend has the 2.4). you'll need a 2" nipple and a 'tee' fitting. the stock sender in one side of the tee and the new sender in the other. the nipple just brings the whole setup out from the engine a bit so it's easier to fit the new sender and the tee. You'll also likely need a socket (

kamikaze is right. I just did my Oil Pressure gauge install. The sensor is at an angle in the head of the 2.4 from the driver's side of the car.
My question is: Where do i install a Mechanical Water temp gauge? I've got everything ran through the firewall, the problem is I cant find a place to put it in the block.
Mechanical Water temp gauge cannot be put on a tee like the oil pressure gauge(stated specifically in gauge install guide). It says in the instructions of the gauge install that it needs to be in the direct path of the coolant.
I'm realizing that it would be easier to install digital gauges but less accuate.
Anyone know where a block drain plug is on the 2.4l?
I'm sure someone has installed a mechanical coolant temp gauge.

Interesting question though. I know there is a plug on the water pump, but I wouldn't put it there.

I noticed a lot of people have pics of their tachs.. and they are reving to 8,000. How do I take off the rev limiter? My engine isnt hot enough yet to make power that high in the rpm range.... but just out of curiosity, how do you do it?
