I bought coil overs for my 98 cavy. Decided to wait until I got new wheel/tires to put them on so I know how low to go. I want to get 18s but the local wheel dealer said I cannot fit them on a stock cavy whenever they put a tire on. Can someone tell me this isn't true (hopefully it isn't) and what kinda tire size would be good to use? Thanks...

so i guess it would be safe to tell your local wheel dealer to get his facts straight. but you have not filled your profile out completely so i dont know what part of cali you are from in order for me to suggest where you should go for good service and prices.
i myself have 18" ADR wheels and my tires are 215/35ZR 18 and have plenty of room.
if others are able to put 19" and even 20" wheels on their J's, im sure you wont have a problem.
good luck with everything.

Well i had a 2004 cavy coupe and the suspensions were the same and i had 18x7.5 on mine slammed on coilovers and no problems.
There are zero problems with 18"'s on Cavi's. I even have a 2" drop, as do many.
What moron dealer said that?

I had 18x8.5" +35 offset wheels wrapped in 225/40r18 rubber and I had absolutely no issues with rubbing etc. My car was dropped on S-techs about 1.5" all around.
