Car Specs:
97' Pontiac Sunfire GT (2.4L)
Recently Changed (Under 5000m):
Wheel Bearings
Spark Plugs (Gapped to .060)
Spark plug boots
Ignition Coils
Struts
Fuel Filter
Alignment / blanace and rotation done after all this
Problems:
1.) When I start my car it takes 4+ seconds of the key turned to get it to start or you can start it like it was carborated ( pump the gas while turning the key ) and it will start right up. Any ideas?
2.) This is a little harder to explain. When ever my car gets past 20mph you can hear a low moan that sounds like when you alignment is way off. Almost sounds like one of the tires is dragging or something. You can have the car in neutral or park and the 3000+ RPM with out the noise showing up, but as soon as the car gets over 20mph it starts and gets continually louder as you increase speed.
HELP!!!

First one sounds like a fuel pump problem
Second one is a wheel bearing.
Have a nice day.
Is there any possibility that it is not the wheel bearing?
I just changed both sides less then 5000 miles ago...
They couldn't go bad that quickly could they?

Have you ever seen a brand new car in the shop at your local dealer?
It is very possible. Also remember there are 4 bearings(one at each wheel) on the vehicle all only servicable by replacing the hub.
Okay, I replaced the front two...
Sounds like that is where it is coming from though...
But when they when bad the last time it sounded completely different...
It was more of a grinding noice... This is just a howl...
Is there a way to check that they are bad with out taking the whole caliper off or am I better off just replacing them while everything is apart anyway?

I think Stlwaco is right...and by the way i have the exact same problem with the starting issue. And I am thinking that it is the fuel pump as well. Thing thats bothering me is that my bro's got an 03 eco, and his pump went bad...but when his went the car sputtered, and than would never start. Mine starts...but you just gotta keep cranking. Well one of us has to fix it first to determine whether or not thats the problem. you do the honours my freind!
So my guess is fuel pump.

It can make a howling noise. To check: Jack car up. Grab tire firmly on top and bottom and try to move back and forth. Now grab it firmly on te left and right and try to shake it. If you feel any movement at all, it's bad. Chaeck every one.
BAHHH!!!
Just what I didn't want to hear.... It is 10 degrees on any give day in Minnesota right now and I don't have a garage...
Well, I will have to try that his week end again...

Sorry to be the baier of bad news!
I had the same problem, because I changed the wheel bearings, and when I went to check things out it turned out the lugs on one of my wheels had worked loose and I just had to tighten them again. But I'm being optimistic here.
I had the same problem, and it was a flat spot on my left front tire.
bomp-bomp-bomp-bomp-bomp-bomp
I thought it was a bearing or something but it was a flat spot on the tire and I don't even do burn outs.
The bolts that worked loose, we they the torx ones or that big 22mm one?

He is talking about the lugnuts. The ones that hold the wheel on.
