Okay guys (and gals)
I need to replace the crankshaft key (sometimes referred to as the Woodruff key) on my brother in law's GA (2.4)
Question: Do I simply pop this key out and lightly tap a new one in with a brass hammer? This is the technique that I've read all over the internet.
I was thinking about sticking the key in the freezer and lightly heating the crankshaft snout as to make the fit a little better.
Ideas/Comments/Insults?
Thanks,
Brian
I've never used a brass hammer, just lightly tapping it in will drop the new one in.

Awesome. I looked online for brass hammers, but no luck around here. I figured I'd get one of the plastic hammers from Sears (I could always use an excuse for another tool

)
Thanks for the input.
