i have a '02 cav with a stock engine. now my problem that i am having with the car is as i accelerate passed 45 mph, she seems to stubble( or cough or struggle). i manage to accelerate the car though. thought it might be the fuel system, nope. the dealer ship thought it might be the toque converter- my engine light came on while driving. the dealership ran a diag, check on her. came up with a TCC error. that having to deal with toque converter. they said it would explain my loss in power, loss gas mileage the problems with acceleration, unable to shift like its suppose to. well they got into the toque converter, and everything checked out OK! argh!!! in the end they cant explian whats causing my problem. they took it for a drive and didn't experience the problems that i was describing-figures huh! they said if the engine light came on again, to bring it in asap so they can figure out whats wrong with my cav! now, has anybody had the problem before with their cav? just pisses me off when theres something wrong, and no one can tell what it is. well hope you guys can give me a little more inside. i ll try and answer any questions if i left out anything. just thank god the car is still under warranty! thx J-BODY! -art

it sounds like your TCC (Tourque Convertor Clutch) may be locking prematurely. that's usually the only thing that will throw a TCC light, ecept a TCM or other wiring

try locating the TCC conector, and driving it, it may stop your problem, and u can then go back to your dealership with this info

what do i do after i find the connector? the dealership looked at the tcc, and everything tested ok. other then the daig. check on the computer that said there was something wrong with the TCC.

disconnect the TCC, and drive for a while, if it dosne't fault, then tell them to look harder into the TCC system

yes you can, and no it wont

having the TCC disconnected should only cause it to not lock in, creating a direct drive from the engine to the trans (like having the clutch fully engaged on a manual shift) it will cause the TC to slightly slip...only thing it should do is is cause a slight drop in MPG readings, a drop of 1-2 MPG may occur, 1-2 from normal operating MPGs
