Piston Connecting Rod Broken/

How much labor does this involve? I'm just going to replace the engine but if it isnt that hard i'd like to just fix the rod.

Um, yeah. This is where you throw away the engine and put in a new one. Usually when a rod brakes it brakes other things too, most of which can't be fixed. Don't bother
its a big paperwieght now.

if it broke in the wrong position, and if it kept running for a while after wards, chances are you did one of two things, or both

1. scrapped the crank

2. scrapped the block

it's possible that it diditn scrap it all, but pretty slim. it also depends on where the rod broke. as long as you didnt scrap the block, it can be fixed. unless you wanna replace block and crank.....
