Wondering if anyone has hit the stock rev limiter or fuel shutoff on top speed a couple times then saw any problems? Car is soundin like it has a burned exhaust valve. But i just installed a brand new head from Advance a few weeks before i ran it this hard, may have been manufacturing defect.
Thanks guys.
I root for the underdog...figured I might as well be one
did you properly break in the head? If not you probably broke it yourself...no Manufacturing defect.
Yeah broke it in properly

what is an exhaust valve and how does a car run when its bad?
Did a compression check proper compression everything that should make an engine run is working properly...except cylinder 1 misfire. This is a tough one....gonna replace the head cause ive gone through absolutely everything.

What engine are we talking about?

I was getting misfires a couple weeks ago also. Mine was just bad gas. Check on that before you tear your engine apart again.
If (a big 'if') you floated one of the valves, there's
possible piston damage ....
IF that's happened, an 'expert' opinion is recommended ....

A valve the opens to expend the exhaust gases from the cylinder chamber. You can imagine how a car can have problems if an exhaust valve is malfunctioning. Exhaust gases aren't leaving the chamber, or not as quickly, and can cause some problems.

Blown.
How about checking the spark plug?
I'v hit my rev limiter many times and i havent had a problem yet.
Ditto, nothing really bad (like holding it there for like 10 minutes), Done it numerous of times on my old Sunbird (probably wasnt a good idea, new head, and it wasnt the best). I'd check the plugs personally, could do the trick. Also is possible, is maybe that the plug wires are not in the correct order. My Sunbird was running a little rough after the head, and i later discovered that the #3 plug was shot, and the wires for 1&3 were swapped, seemed to fix it. If you've got a 2.2OHV, that sounds like an idea.
You have done a compression check, as John Lenko suggested and the results were GOOD it just can't be a bad valve!
I wouldn't replace the head as I don't think there is anything wrong with it.
I would tend to think JH and Ender Wiggin are on the right track
It would be nice to know what engine we are talking about.
Have you tried swapping the spark plug from the "bad" cylinder with one from a good one which is not fired from thje same coil.
See what happens?
