I have a 1996 Cavalier, 2.2L, and the cruise control has a major problem the way I see it. There is very few times where it works properly, but most the time it is very erratic, or doesn't work at all. Here are a few examples of what it does...
Just for an example, lets say I am going down a straight, level highway at 60mph, push the button to start cruise, let off the gas and...
...it instantly drops 5mph, then it climbs steadily up to about 63mph and then shuts itself off.
...it will drop 5mph, gain 5mph, drop again, gain again and shut off.
...it will drop 5-7, gain 4, drop 2, gain 4 and shut off.
any one have any idea of what it could be?
may be Cruise module. could be a TPS
