fuel filter issues....what to do
Wednesday, November 23, 2005 1:29 PM
this isnt for my cav, but for my dodge shadow(beater), but i assume it would be similar if not the same on most if not all cars

since i tried getting the beater goin, ive had nothing but problems with the fuel filter. the first time i got it goin, i took it to the gas station to fill up, and noticed alot of fuel spilling from the fuel filter. so i brang it home and jacked it up. noticed the clamp on the top(in if i remember correctly) nozzle had broken. so i figured id just change the filter and put a new clamp on it, and it would be done.

well, i did so, and after 4 or 5 times of re-doing it, it still leaks a little bit. not alot, but it still drips enough to where i dont wanna drive it. so today, i threw another clamp on it at the end, right next to the other clamp, thinkin it would solve it, but its still dripping. what the he11 should i do. its supposed to snow tomorrow and i cant drive the cav in the snow. its way too low. does anyone know how i can get it to stop leaking, or have an explination as to why it might be leaking??

this really sucks, and its pissin me off. any help is really appreciated

sorry for the long post

try putting new lines if you can, cause it sounds as tho they don't flex anymore, providing they are rubber lines???if not, mabye try putting a filter with bigger ends on it, that may help..

i'd say your best bet would be to put on some new lines. if they're old as hell, they might be cracking around the filter once you clamp it down...
