I had to change my alternator, but am having the toughest time trying to get the drive belt back on. I have a 97 a 2.4L. I crank the tensioner but still need more slack. It seems like there is a trick to get it. Any advice?
Double check it you may have the routing wrong.

When I put a new belt on it was a bitch, but it is doable just keep trying it will eventually pop on there as long as its routed properly.
thanks, i got it. I had to have someone crank on the tensioner from underneath to get maximum slack to pull it over the alternator.
