Spark related problem's.

95, cavi, 2.2l 5spd.

Car was running fine. Let me mother drive it, Got it back, And it was missing, BAD.

Thought it was the Coil pack's. So i had my mother's boyfriend help me. He checked one by one [Not sure how he did it, However it was done with a pair of plier's.], And said they're all getting spark.

So, i pulled the plug's. from left to right. First one [Far right] was FOULED, BAD. Totally BLACK.
Second one [Right mid], Wasnt as bad, but wasnt all that "Great" neither.
Third [left mid], Looked good. He say's i was running on this one, and maybe another Cylinder.
Fourth, was about as bad as the second i pulled.

I also notice, i've got Carbon / Gas infront of the butterfly on the Throttle body.]

I replaced them all [Are they really supposed to be gapped at 0.60? that's what AZ told me. And i couldnt find it anywhere on the car.], And got the oil to where it was supposed to be [It was 1/5 qt. low.] It's black, And runny as hell [Currently running 10-30, I think i'll change it to 10-40, and possibly either 1qt of lucas, or 1qt. of 10-50]

And placed the spark plug wire's back into the loom they we're in, Before i changed them [I was in a hurry, did the wire's in about 25minute's. Didnt even worry about the loom. Could have possibly burnt one of my wire's up. I'll pull my car up onto some wood tomarrow, get under, and go threw 1by1 and make sure none show damage]

She seem's to be running ALOT better now, However i havent test driven her yet. Im still smelling Gas when it's running tho.

Tomarrow i'll check the plug wire's, then take her for a test drive.

But, What all could be causing me to foul them? My mother's boyfriend believe's it's running rich. No way to adjust the fuel, other then going with an aftermarket FPR?

I dont have an AIC sensor, But it's been running for a WHILE without one.

When looking up, from under the engine. There is a sensor to the Top/Right of the Coil pack's. What is this sensor, And is supposed to be COVERED in OIL?

I've got literly ONE city block on my new set of plug's. Pulled the far left today [The one that looked BAD yesterday], And it's COVERED in Blacking liquidy crap [Carbon / gas?]

im sorry, that sensor would be on the LEFT. There are two sensor's up there. It's the one to the left.

I disconnected the 02 sensor, and the plug's cleaned up a bit. it run's a bit better, however, i believe it's time to rebuild the head. cause the lifter's are making a TON of noise.

Cmon, Dont tell me no body know's about these car's.

Do our car's have MAF sensor's?

What all else, control's the fuel?

no MAF Sensor, it has a MAP sensor. umm, when u pulled the plug that was wet, did u smrell it? what did it smell like, oil or gas
and where is this plug that has oil on it? judging from that i'd say u need a valve cover gasket(common on 2.2/2200)

plug was the far right one.

Smelt like gas, but i really couldnt tell you what oil smell's like.

However, the front of the head, show's no sign's of leakage.
I am gonna pull the valve cover anyway's, to check the lifter's [They tick, ALOT], So that'll wind up being replaced.

If it we're indeed that gasket, Would i be able to visably see leakage on the front of the head?

Where is the MAP sensor located?

Any idea what the two sensor's on the back of the block, by the coil pack are? The one to the left is COVERED in oil.

how about an oil change with 10w30, sounds like your head gasket might be blown, judging from the fact its runny (should be pretty thick IMO) I would replace the 02 sensor too since disconnecting it made a difference..

Compression check, would tell me about the Headgasket, without opening up the engine, correct?

It's been STRESSED to me elsewere also, So i'll have to check it out.

What should i be seeing on the gauge?

round 300's, and all consistant within about 30lbs of each cylinder

ilhave to look at my mom's cav for location of MAP sensor, as to mine is a 2.4 and hers is a 2.2
