I was on the Advance Auto parts website to order a new AC compressor for my girlfriends car so I could install it this weekend when I noticed they sell the bearing kits for around $20.
Has anyone ever changed just the bearings? Is it a pain? I haven't pulled the compressor yet to see what I am in for. It would be nice to save the $130 since I am about 90 percent sure the beaings are the problem.

there not that bad, but, you need a special clutch removal tool for the clutch and a pair of snap ring pliers and possibly a 2 jaw puller......the pulley should slide off once the clutch is gone

so the compressor is only $150 from Advance? will have to look into this though, mine is crapping out and i just hate the noise.

150 from advanced......damn...thats cheap......ive never seen one go for that
