Hey Everyone,
This morning I just started to notice a sound from my vents when I turned on the AC. It is only on as long as the air is on, if I turn it off then the sound goes away. It is most noticeable on the first setting but I think that is because the sound of the air blowing isn't over powering it. I am going to take the car to the dealership to have it fixed but I wanted to see if anybody else has had this problem.

Hmmm, maybe you have a leaf or piece of paper stuck in there. Have you looked in it with a flashlight or taken the vents out to have a look?

Yeah I checked and there is nothing in there. It sounds more like the a fan motor is whistling or something.

dont take it to the dealer!!! you can't be that rich. i think it might be your water pump. when you turn the ac on it takes up power from the drivebelt. it might be slowing the pump down when you do so, and causing it to whine a little. it's just a guess. i'm not a mechanic, so take it to a reputable one, but not the dealership. they'll rip you. the problem might be in the a/c system itself, on the other hand.
It could be your belt sqaulling too. Especially with the A/C on. There are alot of unknowns with just a 'whistling noise'.

Well as far as taking it to the dealer the car is a 2005 I still have plenty of warranty on it, and this is surely a warranty item.
As for any under the hood thing, it isn't that because you can't hear it from outside the cabin, you can only hear when the radio is off and the vent is on the first notch. You can hear it better when you put your head closer to the vent and listen in there.
Maybe I have a mouse in my vent and he's pissed from the heat.
