How do you know when your fuel pump went out?

The car won't start! Righrt before it's completely shot, you'll have problems starting the car. it won't start, but if you try it later it just might, typically. Also, listen for it to wind up when you turn on the auxillary power. (it's in the fuel tank in the back of the car). you should be able to hear it if it works but listen carefully. If it's out, a new one is about 280 for the whole assembly. Either way, I would suggest taking it to a shop.

Hmm do then have a replacement performance fuel pump?

I don't think so. If you need a performance fuel pump for serios horsepower, you can buy an MSD BOOSTER pump from RKSport or some place. It is just a booster pump though.
