I had installed a short throw in my car later to find the reverse lights dont work. Now im not too concerned, as it has been 1 year, but i was wondering if anyone had the same problems or how to fix it. Let me know.
More than likely ur reverse light switch needs to be adjusted. At least with most cars the switch it at the shifter on manuals and being that u changed that part,u may have altered the switch position just enuff so that it does not make proper contact when it is ingaged.Check a manual like haynes or chiltons should have a step by step for ur model yr on how to adjust. That's the best guess as for the issue since it seems to be a NON electrical problem, and more like a adjustment issue at the switch unless I am just dead wrong with how its set up on 3rd gens.
Had to change my switch the other day, its below the battery in my car atleast, and is a pain in the butt to get out.
any pics? kinda wanna know exactly what im doing if its below the batter, hate to start ripping stuff out. would it be easier to get to from below? i got a lift i can access it easier from below...
well, its not exactly below the battery, its right next to it, it would probably be easier to get to if you took your battery out, my intake got in the way of it too, so i removed that some, but it is possible to get out w/o moving all the stuff i guess. I got to go to work, ill try to post a pic tomm if i can.
That same exact thing happened to me. It is the Reverse Light Switch. I don't remeber where it was located, but if you are still in warranty, it will be covered. I thought that it was underneath the car on the driver side, but I may be wrong. Mine went out just after getting a reflash (recall). I left and was like WTF, drove it back in and had to make another appointment.
