somehow i didnt realize my oil was low and i was drivin it. something broke. i dont know what it was, but the guy at the chevy place said that if it was drivin w/o oil, then it has to be rebuilt and it would be hellova lot cheaper to jus get a new car.
does anyone know any more about this or can help me any? am i screwed? or is it possible that it is fixable?
thanx

If it was driving without oil, it more then likely blew the engine, or a rod, or a cam, or something, lol.
my buddy did that and he spun a bearing, I did that in my blazer and spun a bearing and grinding the hell out of the crank. Go to a junkyard and get a used motor for like 800 bucks, if that, and have it put in. If they know what they are doin, you will have your car back in two days.

how do you not know you have low oil. c'mon, thats like the easiest car maintance you can do besides checking your tire pressure...
if your engine isn't dead, you're a lucky SOB. its probably a gonner though. it'll definately be cheaper to fix than buying a new car...as long as you keep it away from the dealer. find a used motor...here in the classifieds, junk yard, ebay (dave got his 2.4 off ebay for less than a grand) and have someone put it in for you.
GO PATS!!!
yeah junkyards sell motors cheap usually
