i need all ur guys help!!!!!!engine codes

finally got the car in to the dealership and this is what they said......
code: b1021, loss of pcm serial data
b1022, loss of sir(ithink can't read tech's writing)data
b1023, loss of abs serial data
b1026, vtd bad timing three times
then
p0105, manifold absolute pressure(map)sense performance
p0172, fuel trim system rich
p1629, anti-theft device cranking signal.

all these codes came up and the pcm would not allow him to re program it. he said he doesn't know what's wrong unless i want to pay 70$ an hour for them to chase wiring and check every thing. i was wondering if n e body ever had these codes and if so what the problem was. i have found a sensor(i think) behind the front bumper that does have a split in the insulation.please help, i've dumped alot of money into it and have alot of stuff waiting to go in it, but what's the sense until all of this get's taken care of. ne ideas would be great help. thanks again. matt

thats what i said and i gave them the go ahead to work on it for a couple hours and they said they've narrowed it down to one of a couple harnesses or somethin. thats for the theft problem that i've been having.
as for the others. i was wonderin if the timing chain tensioner is worn or bad and that's causing the off timing code, the fuel code, and the code with the map sensor. i don't know was wonderin if any one has changed the tensioner before, and how much of a pain is it. i know i have to remove the passenger side wheel well to do it but that's all i know
but they still haven't told me whether or not the pcm is any good.

a few things to try

1. disconnect your battery for an hour

2. check ALL fuses

3. check your PCM connection( AT the PCM), make sure their in tight, if they are, pull them out, make sure there's no water in there or dirt. Then go from there

after that pull codes, and if nessecary clear them, if that dont work your looking at mabey a PCM(cheap, 75-90 bucks new) or a Wiring harness (NOT cheap, $1400 new from dealership, i got mine for 75 bucks used, not too bad condition)

how big nof a pain is it to run the new wiring harness. the computer won't allow gm to clear the codes or reflash the pcm, so they r saying that i have a broken wire or bad ground but they have had the car for 2 weeks and going and they still have no idea. they told me a new pcm would be 500$ and that doesn't include install. where can u get urs for 75 bucks. thanks for the info. iif u could let me know, i'm gonna go to gm tomorrow and ask prices and compare.

they will really BLEED you money wise for parts at the garage...especially on a new computer or wiring harness. Look for a "you pull it" and get one yourself, its loads cheaper. Get as close as you can on type of car to pull it from, and try to maych numbers, then you will likely have to switch the PROM over so the new computer has the original data tables.

they finally came up witht the fact thats the wiring harness for my headlight assembly's is causing all my grl's to comeon and off and asffecting my theft system? i will know by tues. or weds ifit's really fixed. i've got the 2000 headlight conversion and when the guy wired it he f--ked it up and the rest is history.n e way, question is..........
the tech said ythat it was causing voltage to backfeed through all the kod's and pcm and that's why it wouldn't remember the r-code for the theft system and all the other crap.x does it make sense to you?
