Ok, here is the story. 01 2.2
Its a misfiring/injector issue im sure, when cruising at low rpms (maybe around 1500) and have a consistent pressure on gas peddle. It will sometimes start to mis, unless i accelerate or let off.
Also, sometimes when (at operating temp) idle it will start to mis. When this happens and i take off at WOT (manual) it has maybe 15% MORE power then normal but emits a white (gas) smoke at higher rpms and a black cloud when shifting fast. Also when I ride first gear out after this "power increase" moment, the car seems to idle much higher. This includes being in gear (seems like its stuck at 10% throttle) and while jump up a little while shifting. To stop this i then have to come to a complete stop (maybe something with the vacuum from the brake booster?) This seems to be more of a computer problem then just a random injector issue since it wont stop until back to a complete stop.
When it starts to mis at idle and i take off normal and then engage the clutch it SLIGHTLY jumps in rpms but come back to normal.
When there is no misfiring at idle and i take off at WOT there is no white or black smoke what so ever.
Anyone ever some across this?
ANY info would be greatly appreciated!!
check your wires at coils and plugs first. they get corosion and need to be replaced
the idle being messed up could be the throttle position sensor. i had kinda a similar problem with my car a little while ago.
My car's problem
the problem doesn't sound exactly the same, but it could be similiar.
GO PATS!!!
Hey thanks guys.
martin, ya i replaced them before when the problem only came around once in a while. I also know it wouldnt have anything to do with the second issue.
Sparks, i thought the same thing about the idle issue. Although with the power difference at WOT would steer me away from that since WOT is WOT. plus seems weird with the idle issue.
I guess i should shoot up to autozone and see what codes it throwin.
Thanks again for the help!!
check your IAC for idle issue as well
