basically what i've gleaned from reading a bunch of posts on the topic is that the check engine light should be flashing? if it just on steady does that mean its just an emissions control problem? if anyone can shine some light on the mysteries behind that stupid light, i'd appriciate it. i just remembered that the light came on for a few days like 100,000 kms ago, but went out after i filled up (loose gas cap most likely) so i'll go try the cap when i leave school today, but in the mean time, any info on what the light means would be appriciated.



That cop took the whole thing way out of context. I mean, I was only going 145 Km/h in that
80 km/h zone because I was drunk and I wanted to get off the roads.

That stupid light is smarter than you , the only thing that can shed light on that mysterious CEL is called an OBDII scanner. That light could literally mean hundreds of different things. Get the code scanned and you will know your problem.
