More spark plug info

1995
2.2
4 door Cav.
Current Milage : 147,800

I purchased the vehicle back in Oct. 2003.
1st thing I did was give it a full tune up.
Back on Oct 1st 2003 I installed OEM AC Delco Platinums
Here we are 2 full years later and 41,336 and this is how they look.
They are side by side next to the Bosch Platinum 4212 I replaced them with. don't ask why I switched I'm still asking myself teh same thing. i will report back later and let you know how they are working out. as yo can see the AC Delco Plugs would still have worked. I only replaced because I don't believe in teh 100,000 mile idea. car ran fine with teh Ac's in. Look at how tiny the Bosh plugs are in comparison!!!

looks like the Delco's werent gapped right (replaced mine at 83k miles, and they looked better than that) I used the same as what i took out too. Also, make sure they were the right ones, as there were several AC Delco plugs depending on year.

4212's fits like every domestic car. And the gap is larger because it wore out.

Have fun with those bosch's. Hopefully they last.

bah ... get rid of those and put delcos in. The small electrode gets fouled too easily and causes starting problems. youll see just wait.

As soon as I see my MPG decreasing or the car idle or start harsh there out.

on my 96 sunfire 2.2 L, I changed out the OEM spark plugs at 93k miles. didn't know anything about spark plugs except the engine required platinum plugs. I picked up the cheapest spark plugs autozone had and they were bosch platinums 4212. within 30 miles, the engine bucked and idled rough only at stop signs/stop lights. the engine threw a check engine light code. I got fed up, swapped the bosch platinums out for brand new OEM spark plugs, disconnected the battery to take off the check engine light, and never had a problem since. this was three years ago/31k miles ago. autozone wouldn't take back the used bosch platinums.

Well, as described! Problems with the Bosch Junkers!!!!
It is now 6 monts later and my milage is at 157,372. Car wont start some days, takes more than 3 key turns to start. These plugs are junk. Proving once again, you get what you pay for.
Pics to follow after the swap.
