hi guys,
I have a 97 cav witha 2.2 and auto. car was in slight accident.
the problem is when i try to start it, it will start and run for a few seconds, or it will just crank, not start.
i replaced the following from my old cav same yr.
computer, plugs, wires, map sensor,iac motor, coils,ignition module, fuel pump and assembly, fuel filter.
it has spark, decent compression, can smell gas a mile away
when trying to start it, checked fuel pressure, ok!
i was thinking maybe the security system is screwed up
it blinks after i start it, but thats it.
there is no remote with it.
all parts that were replaced came off my old 97 that ran last month.
i am at my wits end with it!!!!

I'm having the same problem with my cav right now, there is 2 things that i know of that you can try, leave the key in the on postion, but do not start, let it sit for 10min's no less, that should stop the light from flashing, then turn the key to off and then switch back over to start, and that should relearn the theft code, if that doessn't work you may have to buy a new ignition switch or instrument panel.....
