I think I have narrowed it down to either the A/C clutch, or the tensioner pulley. When the A/C is off, one of the pulleys screaches really loud, but it goes away as soon as the A/C is turned on. Anybody ever had this problem? What solved it?

i have the sameproblem, but a tech toldme that it was my compressor. my buddy has a sunfire and he had the same prob too and he had his compressor replaced and it went away.so i don't know.i dont want to spent 2 or 3 hundred dollars like he did. i'd rather get the part and do it my self, but i don't know if it will cure it definetly.let me know if you get it fixed.

I could go get one at the junk yard, but then Id have to recharge the system, etc.. wouldnt I?
