Coming Back To Life

Bought a new black '87 Z24 back in '87. Drove it for 2 years and put it away before it was even paid off (loved it that much). Been sitting on jack stands in my garage for 16 years and, due to today's gas prices, I've decided to bring it back to life and drive it as my everyday car.

It fired up alright (treated with Slick 50 before putting it away) and the gas in the tank probably cost less than $1.25/gallon!!! Anyway, the years don't seem to have hurt it mechanically (although I am having a mechanic go over it from head to toe to be sure). But it does have a few appearance issues that I want to bring back to original condition. That's where I need your input.

1) Anyone know of a good source for a replacement headliner or an Indiana shop that repairs them? Today was its first day out of the heated and air conditioned garage in about 7 years. Just sitting in the sun from 7am until noon, the felt-like fabric has separated from the formed headliner. I suspect deterioration of the foam layer between the fabric and the formed board.

2) There are a few minor scratches on the body and more than a few very small chips in the paint on the nose from living on a gravel road years ago. So I am looking for an expert detailing shop that knows how to treat a black car right. No plain old "wax'n'buff" guys. One somewhere near the Lafayette area would be ideal, but I will consider other areas for the right shop for the job.

3) Lastly, for now anyway, the driver's sun visor has a strap (formerly elastic) for maps, etc. But it's lost its elasticity. So I need a source for a replacement one of those too. I know the local Chevy dealer will try to rape me for anything ordered through them. Been there and done that.

Thanks. Look forward to input from anyone in the know on these subjects.
