2.4L Fuel System Depressurization
Thursday, September 01, 2005 6:51 PM
I am going to change my fuel filter this weekend on my 2.4L. My Haynes manual say to pull the fuel pump connector apart underneath the car to depower the pump. Isn't there a fuse somewhere I can pull do do the same thing?

Thanks - Brad

Under the hood, driverside, just take the gas cap off, take the relay out (cleverly labeled fuel pump, and try to start the car, then take the filter off, its what i did.

To be honest all that BS isnt really needed. You can just take the filter off and slap a new one on, if your not a moron about it.

it will spray fuel either way

just use a rag to cover the fittings when you loosen it up , to block the spray

Let the car sit overnight, then change the filter in the morning, or before you drive it. It worked for me, just fuel dripped because it was in the line, but it didn't spray anywhere.
