No oil pressure, overheating, but I have oil...
Friday, July 01, 2005 6:25 AM
So I was idiling outside a friend's house when I noticed my oil pressure light came on and the car was overheating. I shut it down and checked the oil and I was about 1/2 quart low. I'm guessing its the oil pump or a clogged head gasket. Any ideas?

I have a mechanical oil pressure gauge. The oil pressure gauge was at 0 when the light came on. After letting it sit for 10 min I restarted it and I had normal oil pressure.

Replaced the pump and changed the oil and I still have the same problem.

Replace the rod and main bearings next? Hopefully all I have to do is drop the oil pan down to replace them.
