Mine won't turn off when I close the trunk.. What is the problem? How does it detect when the trunk is closed?
Are you sure it isnt turning off. I know this sounds dumb but find a buddy and lock him or you in the trunk. Then see if it goes out when closed all the way.

There is a switch attached to the driver side trunk arm... Probably mercury... When the trunk is closed, it receeds into the rear deck.

Thanks! I found that switch thing. It is a plastic case with some metal bullet looking object inside with another metal plate. Not sure how it works... At least the light is off, but now it doesn't turn on when the trunk is open!
