Hello everyone i'm new to the site & have a blast .... well anyways the problem:

I have Two Lights (ETS OFF & CHECK ENGINE) that come on everynow and then sometimes they will stay on for a day to three days sometimes never come on I have taken it to the shop they looked at it for a bout two days ran many test nothin came up really but they said it was maybe because of the intake taking more air in and not adding the right fual amount and im prob not going to get rid of the lights unless I put a chip in there and well I told them they don't make a chip for my car .. so does anyone know anything about this or how to fix it or anything ( I have a '96 Cavalier Z24 2.4L) & my only thing really is that I know many of you have the same car so why can noone have the same problem....... anything at all let me know THANKS!!!!!!!!!

take it to a good shop. go to autozone and get your cel scanned. theres a list of codes here on the org. you can find out the problem that way

So you have an aftermarket intake? Make sure the IAT is plugged into it just as it was on the stock rubber intake. I had and many others have had the same problem.

I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.

electronic traction system off

Had same problem was my first O2 sensor.
ETS off light and CEL light were both on also.

make sure to check your vacuum lines. i have the same problem right now

same thing happens to my '96 z24 2.4L also.

i find it comes on if i drive around in one of the 1 2 or 3 gears too long (i have an auto. tranny) then i put it back into D and it goes away in a few hours.
