hey guys i have a 98 z24, 5 speed. now for some reason about 80% of the time after i start the car, it goes through this @!#$ty phase where the rpm lowers and the car acts like it wants to die. sometimes it does die. now of course it chooses the most inopportune times to do this (i.e. i'm about to pull into traffic) but it seems after the car is warmed up this doesn't happen anymore, i asked my mechanic, but he's no help, any ideas what could be causing this? thanks!
also, my engine will shake sometimes when i take off in 1st. it feels like when the car is in too high a gear, like going 10 mph in 3rd or something. again, after car is warm, seems to fade away, is engine mounts the only thing that keeps engine from shaking? cause i thought it funny that it stops when warmed up, but only shakes when i'm accelerating after turning on. thanks for your help!
