99z door lock problem.

Hey guys...i noticed that when I open the door, the lock does not spring up all the way so when you go close the door, you hear the awful; "Bang" when the lock hits the striker plate. Not sure if all this makes sense but not sure how else to describe it. I'll try to get pics up if needed. Anyone now how to replace the lock and also would anyone know what the part number is for it?

first, open your door, then lift up on it. If it moves up for you, you need a new pin/bushing kit.

Once thats out of the way, you got 2 choices.

1. Spray WD-40 on the lock, dont be shy on the spraying, then shut, open, spray, shut open a couple more times.

2. Take it off the door, spray it down, clean it up real good.

They seem to attract all the dust, dirt, etc because they are greased from the factory. Over time the dirt, etc like to make them stick, not release

Thanks J. That is exactly what is happening. I will see if I can clean it up and if that still does not work then I will see if i can get a new pin/bushing kit.]
Any idea where I can find the part number as well as what the price would be?
Thanks again.

for the pin/bushing? Dont know the part number, but if you go to your local advance, auto zone they will have them. A kit includes the pin/bushing for one door. Should be right around $6-10 bucks
