i just put in the bosh 's and it was a whole lot better then the burnt ngks that came out , no more bog and idle is okay too i also changed the boots
world of difference
Nick
Next the fuel filter
i had them in my car for about a week... i hated them. i went back to the ac delco double platnium oem plugs.. much better!
but im glad they are working out for you!

+4's are pointless..they are no better than normal plugs
The Other Matt wrote:+4's are pointless..they are no better than normal plugs
Agreed. My car didn't even want to run with Bosch platinums. AC Delco factory replacements work much better for me

i dont see any problems yet it been three 10km drives. i bought the orignals but one was bent a bit so i had the boshs in the gluv compartment and the daily driver was a part so i had to decide. the factory ones were not gaped properly either. manual says .050
right a way i notice no more bog and quicker pick up.but the idle was a little off if i reved it it would almost stall but today it was okay
my car non turbos or sc.
Nick
never hurts to try em
why did this post move

agreed
http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/technical/spark_plugs_faq.htm#multi_ground
the spark will only occur at the shortest distance from electrode to ground. thats how electricity travels.
and of course a new plug vs and old, the new will be more efficient. but only one ground electrode is really needed. especially if you do maintainence on the car.
I think the theory behind the +4's is that, if the ground with the least resistance (the one actually taking the spark) becomes fouled or sooted, then one of the other grounds will take over providing less resistance than the sooted ground. However that's not gonna help if its the electrode (providing the spark) thats sooted or fouled.
I'm using denso iridiums, magnacore wires, and stock coils with no problems by the way. Although I am saving for a MSD, blaster coils, and an onslaught of other goodies.
sorry event I read your link after I posted, dumb me, basically the same thing though.
the +4's run hotter and in most cases run worse than OEM type plugs on a stock engine.

I've been running Bosch +4 for 6 years with no problems. I cannot agree that the plugs run hotter in a stock engine. If you get the right ones for your engine, they should be running at the temperature range that the originals run at. I would agree they would run hotter if you get a hotter plug. Just the same way they would run hotter on a single electrode plug if you get a hotter size.

i maybe think they run a little hotter because today i was doing some spirited drivind and i idle at home for two minutes and the gauge climbed a little quicker then before but my rough idle is still there when she gets hot the whole engine starts to shake any help would be welcomed i think maybe a clogged cat or something
the old plugs were not as bad as the pics u showed me and wouldn't overheat if it was the head gasket?
Nick
ps i read that gar moudy has a 98 sleeper i try'in the same thing man what u got done
I've heard horrer stories about those plugs. Get AC delco rapidfire plugs, the last and work.

from tests they do run hotter simply because you now have 4 pieces of metal in the combustion chamber retaining heat and disrupting the normal flow of combustion.
at any given point and time, you only will use one prong. only one prong will ignite, but the other three sit there doing nothing and absorb heat. they are connected to the plug head/threaded area which connects to the head by contact.
remember heat transfers on contact.
while its not significantly hotter, a few degrees can make a difference over time.
nick what NGK plugs did you use before the bosch?
how about triple platinum splitfire plugs are they good or bad ?
Nick Not too much. Removed the Bong, restrictor tube, modified the air intake, strut tower brace and use Bosch +4. Going to replace from the Cat back when time comes to replace the original muffler. Have the windows tinted. Using the original head unit (Delco) in the car, but replaced all the speakers with Pioneer and have a Pioneer amp to push them. Not that much yet, but it does have better pick-up than when I first bought it. Have sent quite a few foreign cars back in Southern CA when I was there. They were quite surprised. I guess they thought that just because they had a few decals on their car that made them fast.

i had these plugs in my car and it was falling dead at every light and when i took the bosh plugs out and put the original ones back in it stoped and works perfectly now
Had Bosch ok at first but after a while i had to change them. I am running the AC Delco plugs that come with the GM supercharger which are suppose to be one step colder because my plugs were showing sign to to much heat.

how about iridum ngks?are they any good!!
i had ngk's in my old neon. they worked great!
full drag cars use single prong spark plugs, they even go as far as to move the prong out of the path of air. +4 run hotter, and block the air around the spark. sure makes me wanna think twice before i bought them. just my 2 cents though, if you use them and they work then hey you gotta stick with what works.

the iridium ngk's where not that bad they lasted two years i guess over time the power diminished i didnt notice untill i changed them.
i dont notice any hotter temps
good point lots of resitance around the plug but they dont block the electrode like the single ones
