I ask here, maybe I have better luck

Hi friends. I need some info about the stock Ecotec engine "S" intake tube, the black plastic one. What are sizes (diameter) of both openings this tube? I mean at TB side and at cleaner box side.

Regards,

C = circumfrance
r = radius
3.12837289372 = pi

C = 3.1415465638754387563746237423 X r X r....that's the formula, isnt it?

Um... or you could take a string and measure it?

Friend I ask because my car doesn't have an Ecotec engine. In fact Cavys and Sunfires in my country still doesn't have this engine.

Then any help would be highly appreciated.

A = pi (r^2)
C = pi d = pi 2r

where:

A = area
C=circumference
r= radius
d = diameter

Just in case some one gets the wrong idea.

........and I don't own an ecotec either......sorry.

I know how to take the measure and if I can find one, I can measure myself. But we don't have this engines in my country. That is why ask for this dimensions, for you people in USA.

The most important dimension (diameter) is at the expansion box side, or the side that is attached to the black box above the throttle body.

Please don't tell me about formulas again because I know it.

formulas won't work anyways, because the s tube isn't round, its oval shaped, and i beleive the oval if it was round is 3 inches, because i crammed a 3 inch filter on my s tube at one point and called it an intake

Eliot, I'm fairly sure that the diameter on the tube where it connects to the air box is the same as your Z24. I've never put them side to side to compare, but I'm 90% confident its the same.

Zach thanks I just imagine about it. It is the same opening as my oem "S" at the cleaner box.

But I would like to know the inner diameter or at least the circunference at the outside of the "S"? That way I can imagine how much could be interior diameter, because the oval shape of the "S" tube, you have said.

To be more specific, I would to know it at this red circles in the next pic.

Thanks again for your help.

Regards,

if you read closely, he is wanting to know the DIAMETER of the openings. that is all.not the area of the opening. i am sorry i cannot help though.

Peace Out!!!
