My 2000 Cavalier has started making a loud clunking sound from the rear passenger corner when I brake heavily (or even moderately). It varies, but seems to always happen, and more loudly, when it's raining. I replaced the shoes about a month before it started happening, and took that drum off when it started to check it out but could find nothing.
It sounds like there's something really heavy in my trunk that hits the front when I brake. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Its probably not your brakes, most likely it is a bad strut mount. This was a common problem back in 96 and GM issued a TSB for it. Yours is probably an isolated incident though.
