The car is a 91 z24, it only has 58,000 miles and the something in the rear head it shot,valve,lifter,pushrod im not totally sure what it is, but the sound is coming from the rear head. There were also somemetal flakes in the oil (not many) when i drained it out so i plan to remove the oil pan also to clean it out, besides the noise it ran and idled fine. Because just the rear head is bad does that mean i have to replace the front also? Once everything is back together i was going to let her drive it for a week and then change the oil and filter again to make sure the metal flakes are all out. Im also replacing all the seals expect where the engine meets the trans because it had a few small oil leaks, new plugs,wires and anything else the need replacing along the way. Any answers to my questions would be great. Thank You in advance

could be a lifter tapping, rocker arm wore out, bent pushrod, just gonna have to dig into it. and no, you don't have to replace both heads, but if you take them off, why not have them ported?
