Instrument Cluster is having problems- what to do?
Monday, April 25, 2005 10:24 AM
So.. on Saturday, I let my roommate borrow my car to pick up his girlfriend and her daughter. He brought it back and later that day I went to go somewhere and the car wouldnt turn over. We figured it was too low on gas so we went and filled up a gas can. Brought that back, put some gas in the car - still no go so we rolled it to the middle of the street (so it would be level).. rocked it a bit and still no go so we rolled it back to the side of the road.. I tried one more time and it started.

Fine, it starts and runs - but now my instrument cluster isnt working right. After about 2 minutes of driving, most of the warning lights turn on, and all the gauges go to "0". After driving for a while, it may kick back on... the guages that is but the warning lights stay on.. then it kicks out. Then it says "Error" in the area where the digital reading that normally tells me how many miles I have driven.

Whats up with this? I have had way too many problems with this car... I really dont think this would have anything to do with how I installed my stereo... but still.. I've had issues with that for a long time now. Any thoughts? Any fuses I can pull to reset the computer? Thanks,

Chris

might have a bad cluster, nothing is serviceable, not even the bulbs. replacing the whole thing should solve the prob. think boneyard.
