"It " being the front suspension crossmember..................I was lucky that I was only going about 30 mph when I stepped on the brakes when something made a crunching sound under the right front fender..............I got out & looked & the tire was leaning in at the top , was turned to the right & was shoved back against the mudflap( it bent the "dogbone " engine support too).............I jacked it up to find the crossmember was rusted away so badly that it broke...............now , I get the "fun" job of replacing it ( a nearby junkyard has them for $70).........has anybody else ever had this happen??
I'd junk that car if it wasn't for that 2.2 engine.
